The History of the World That’s NOT in Your Textbooks
A long time ago, well, I hate to disappoint you, but things weren’t really that different than they are now. People were still people, and they looked just like we do. But they weren’t exactly the same as us. They weren’t very imaginative, and they were bored most of the time.
All this boredom meant people had a lot of time on their hands. They couldn’t think of anything better to do, so they would fight amongst themselves. For the first time, people made enemies. The first wars were fought, over nothing. The situation wasn’t looking too good. If these people didn’t get a grip soon, they would destroy themselves!
Far away from the turmoil was someone called Creativity. They saw all the violence and anger from afar, and they knew something had to be done. Creativity wasn’t like their brothers and sisters. They were sent away because they were different, and mainly because the others were afraid of their power. Creativity could think outside of their little box house. They saw the world differently, and knew the others could, too, if they only tried.
On the other side of the world, far away from the wars, was someone called Knowledge. Knowledge had chosen to hide from the dangers in the world and study on their own. Knowledge thought about all of the things they knew, and of all the things they wanted to know. They then came to an important decision. In order to put what they had learned to good use, they would have to find Creativity.
Meanwhile, Creativity had come to the came conclusion about Knowledge. They knew they would need Knowledge to put their skills to good use, so they traveled to the other side of the world.
In the center of everything, the people were still bored. Everyone was fighting with each other, so they didn’t even notice Knowledge and Creativity walk right into each other. Both of them were startled, but they soon figured out who was who, and after that, they made the plan.
They called the plan the Big Bang. After much hard work, it was finally ready. Knowledge realized they would need to get the people’s attention, so Creativity invented the gong. They were both right, it took three loud bangs before they had everyone’s attention. The average attention span was limited, so they didn’t waste any time. People’s eyes lit up when they saw the beautiful display Creativity and Knowledge had made for them, a large sphere with swirls of blue, white, and brown. A closer look revealed tiny people walking throughout the sphere’s surface. The people were even more amazed when they saw that the tiny beings looked just like them!
Well, the ideas of Creativity and Knowledge spread quickly. Soon, everyone wanted to help create the little people’s world. That’s when plants started growing, and animals were created. Knowledge and Creativity were proud of their work, and decided to give their special gifts to the little people as well.
What does all this have to do with us? Those “little people” were us! To the big guys, we’re a sort of amusement. They love to see us in our little world. It’s like going to the movies, but their popcorn makes loud noises that we cal thunder and lightning. Knowledge and Creativity are still working on the world, but they left a certain amount undecided, and this they call the human element.
